Vice Ganda on Vhong's condition: Nakakapanginig

'#PrayForVhongNavarro' quickly trends on Twitter

MANILA - Comedian Vice Ganda took to Twitter Friday to air his sentiment about the condition of "It's Showtime" co-host Vhong Navarro, who is currently unable to properly speak after he was allegedly beaten up by a group of men last Wednesday.
Moments after ABS-CBN News reported the incident with a statement from Navarro's manager, film director Chito Rono, Vice Ganda tweeted: "Nakakaiyak. Nakakapanginig. Nakakapanghina."

The post quickly got over 800 retweets and over 900 favorites, getting responses wishing Navarro's quick recovery.
A few minutes later, Vice Ganda followed up with a tweet urging his 3.4 million followers to pray for his co-host, using the hashtag "#PrayForVhongNavarro."

The term instantly zoomed up to the top trending topics in the Philippines on Twitter, ranking 4th as of 8:18 p.m.
In his statement, Rono said Navarro was tied up and attacked by a group of men when he visited a female friend at her condominium unit in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig last Wednesday.

The film director said that while Navarro is now recovering, he may undergo an operation due to the injuries he sustained. The comedian, according to Rono, is also unable to talk properly following the attack.

"It's Showtime," which Navarro has co-hosted since 2009, carried on with its regular programming on Thursday and Friday, without mention from co-hosts of including Vice Ganda of the comedian's condition.

According to Rono, Navarro will temporarily not be seen on the noontime program and his other television projects as he continues to recover.
